Tuscaloosa Teenager Killed in Overnight Shooting
A shooting in Tuscaloosa Thursday night claimed the life of a 13-year-old boy.
The Tuscaloosa Police Department contacted the multi-agency Violent Crimes Unit at approximately 11:15 p.m. Thursday, February 18th in reference to the shooting in the 300 block of James I Harrison Parkway.

Officers were able to locate a handgun next to the deceased male, and while they were on the scene two males pulled up and identified themselves as being involved in the shooting.
These two males were taken into custody and interviewed after claiming that they acted in self-defense. No charges have been filed at this time, and the case is still being investigated as the VCU seeks additional witnesses with information about the shooting.
