Pedestrian Killed Crossing Skyland Boulevard Early Sunday Morning
A 68-year-old man was killed early Sunday while walking across Skyland Boulevard near Overhill Road in Tuscaloosa.
The driver who struck him, a 19-year-old, called 911 at 1:50 a.m. to report the crash, according to a media release from Tuscaloosa Police Department spokeswoman Stephanie Taylor.

Medics tried to save the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
TPD’s Traffic Homicide Unit, which investigates every crash in the city involving a death or serious injury, has the case. Investigators were still working Sunday morning to identify the man and notify his family.
Police have not said whether the driver will face charges.
On Monday, Taylor said the victim of this accident is Farrin Harris, 68, of Tuscaloosa. He lived in a neighborhood off Skyland Boulevard, near the site of the accident.
