
Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Warns of Multiple Phone Scams
The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office is warning residents to be aware of an increase in phone scams.
"We've received information that scammers are making telephone calls again," the TSCO said. "There may be an influx due tax season, so please remain vigilant."
Typical phone scams subjects include social security, student loans, taxes, debt collection, and gift cards. Residents are reminded to never give personal or banking information out via telephone.

"There have also been recent scams involving people offering to pave driveways with leftover asphalt from other jobs. Scammers will collect money before the job is done and leave without completing the job," the TSCO said.
