The Tuscaloosa Police Department has identified two victims killed in a head-on collision on University Boulevard early Thursday morning.
Stephanie Taylor, TPD's public information officer, said the wreck happened sometime around 3 a.m. Thursday.
She said a Chevrolet S10 collided head-on with a Nissan Sentra, leaving two people dead and two others seriously injured.
Taylor said the deceased victims, both of who were occupants of the Chevy truck, were 40-year-old Marty Dale Green and 35-year-old Ashley Denise Stewart. Both were Northport residents, Taylor said, and were killed instantly.
The driver of the Sentra, a 33-year-old man, was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center then transferred UAB Hospital in Birmingham for treatment.
Another person in the Chevrolet, a 35-year-old Tuscaloosa County woman, remained in critical condition at DCH in Tuscaloosa Friday morning.
Taylor said at this time, investigators believe the driver of the Sentra was traveling west on University Boulevard early Thursday morning when he crossed the center line and collided with the truck.
TPD's Accident Reconstruction Unit is investigating the crash, and no further details were available Friday morning.
