3-Year-Old Dies in “Tragic Accident” At Pool in Lake View, Alabama
A toddler died Wednesday in an incident police are describing as a tragic accident at a pool in Lake View, Alabama.
The town of about 3,000 sits on the eastern edge of Tuscaloosa County, just before the Jefferson County line.
In a post to social media Thursday morning, the Lake View Police Department said their officers were joined by the Lake View Fire Department, McCalla Fire Department and the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office on a call to the Tannehill Preserve Community Pool on an emergency medical call Wednesday.
The officers and other first responders found a 3-year-old girl there, who was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The release did not say how the child came to be injured, and the post called the death "a tragic accident."
No further details were immediately available Thursday morning.
