Calling Colonel Mustard: Theatre Tuscaloosa Hosting Auditions for “Clue”

Theatre Tuscaloosa is holding open auditions for its upcoming production of "Clue" this weekend, with tryouts scheduled for this Monday and Tuesday at Shelton State Community College.

For both nights, auditions begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Wilson Carr Rehearsal Hall on SSCC's Martin Campus at 9500 Old Greensboro Road.

Based on both the Hasbro board game and the 1985 film, the production features the classic ensemble of flamboyantly and colorful suspects: Colonel Mustard, Mrs. Peacock, Professor Plum, Miss Scarlet, Mrs. White and Mr. Green, all caught up in a comedic murder mystery at a dinner party gone fatally wrong.

Theatre Tuscaloosa Executive Producer Michael Walker is directing. Performances run September 25 through October 4 in the Bean-Brown Theatre on the Martin Campus.

Roles are available for actors across a range of ages and include all six principal suspects, as well as the butler Wadsworth, Yvette the maid, and three ensemble positions who may cover principal roles. A full character breakdown is available here.

Auditioners should come prepared to read from sides available at the same link, though memorization is not required. Scripts are available to read at the Theatre Tuscaloosa Management Office, Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon.

Rehearsals will generally run 6-9 p.m. Monday through Friday until closer to performance weeks.
