Duncanville Man Gets Life in Prison After Conviction for Ex’s 2021 Murder
A Tuscaloosa County man convicted of murdering his ex-girlfriend and leaving her body in a car on the side of a local highway has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
A spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa County District Attorney's Office told local media that 36-year-old Terek Herron-Antone received the sentence Thursday after he was convicted of murder last month.

As the Thread reported when it happened, police accuse Herron-Antone of fatally shooting his ex-girlfriend, Syibrieka Underwood, in July 2021.
An Alabama State Trooper found the victim left in a car parked on the side of Highway 82 near Duncanville, dead from a gunshot wound. Although investigators have never recovered the firearm that killed her, Herron-Antone allegedly confessed the killing to another ex-girlfriend on the night of the murder.
Despite a 2024 mistrial and a spirited defense led by attorney Stuart Albrea, a jury convicted Terek Herron-Antone of murder and illegally possessing a firearm during a retrial in January.
On Thursday, Herron-Antone was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole for the murder charge and received another life sentence for the gun charge.
