A single-vehicle crash in Marengo County has left one teenager dead and injured two other juveniles, including the 15-year-old who was driving.

Corporal Reginal King, a spokesperson for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, said the accident took place around 5 p.m. Sunday near the community of Dixon Mills about 90 miles south of Tuscaloosa.

King said the 15-year-old was driving a Chrysler 200 on Alabama Highway 10 when it left the roadway and struck a tree. The vehicle also caught fire, he said.

An 18-year-old passenger who lived in Sweet Water, Alabama was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. The 15-year-old driver and a 9-year-old passenger were both injured and treated at an area hospital.

No other details were available Wednesday and King said Troopers continue to investigate the deadly accident.
