
Significant Weather Advisory Until 6:15 PM for Fayette, Pickens Counties
The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a Significant Weather Advisory in effect until 6:15 p.m. for portions of Pickens and Fayette Counties.
The advisory is as follows:
...SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR NORTHEASTERN PICKENS AND SOUTHWESTERN FAYETTE COUNTIES UNTIL 615 PM CDT... At 544 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Ashcraft Corner, or 11 miles south of Fayette, moving southwest at 20 mph. Winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with this storm. Locations impacted include... Reform, Ashcraft Corner, Lubbub and North Pickens Airport. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
