NWS ISSUES SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR WALKER COUNTY

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Central Walker County in central Alabama...

* Until 1000 PM CDT.

* At 916 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Oakman, or
  near Jasper, moving east at 40 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage 
           to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Jasper, Sumiton, Cordova, Dora, Parrish, Sipsey, Rocky Hollow,
  Burnwell, Beloit, Lynns Park, Barney, Empire, Gamble, and Boldo.

NWS ISSUES TORNADO WATCH FOR 21 ALABAMA COUNTIES

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued its first Tornado Watch for our listening area on Tuesday evening.

The watch is in effect in a number of West Alabama counties, including Bibb, Fayette. Greene. Hale, Lamar, Marion, Pickens, Sumter, Tuscaloosa and Walker Counties.
