Despite having big performances from multiple players, the Alabama Crimson Tide dropped its fourth straight game on Sunday as they fell to the Florida Gators, 85-77, inside of Coleman Coliseum.

Alabama came into the game missing four players, including senior starting point guard Hannah Barber. Taylor Sutton recorded her first start of the season, finishing with six points, one assist, and one steal.

Sutton scored all of her six points in the first quarter, as Alabama trailed by one, 17-16, at the end of the opening period. The Tide regained the lead late in the second quarter, taking a 29-27 advantage into the half. A tightly contested, high-scoring third quarter saw the Tide take a 58-55 lead into the final frame.

Alabama started the fourth quarter off strong, earning its largest lead of the game, 66-57, with 8:24 left in the quarter. The Gators battled back and tied the game at 72 with 3:29 left in the game. Florida controlled the rest of the game, pulling out the 85-77 win.

“Yes, there were things that we could have done better, but I thought that we had some players through some adversity give an amazing effort today,” said Alabama head coach Kristy Curry. “We came up short, and we just continue to build on the positives with our effort and energy today and continue to look at areas that we have to improve.”

Three Alabama players scored in double figures including Megan Abrams (22), Brittany Davis (19), and JaMya Mingo-Young (18). The Tide shot 42% from the field.

Florida was led in scoring by Alberte Rimdal with 17 points. The Gators shot 47.1% from the field.

The Tide outrebounded the Gators 42-40.
