Police Confirm Woman Found Dead Near Tuscaloosa Was Murdered, Suspect in Custody
Police have confirmed that a woman found dead on Highway 82 outside of Tuscaloosa Wednesday morning was murdered and investigators have a suspect in custody Thursday afternoon.
Marty Sellers, the co-commander of the multi-agency Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said the woman was discovered in a vehicle on Highway 82 in the Duncanville area Wednesday morning.
The VCU looks into almost all unnatural deaths in the county, and Sellers said they opened a "suspicious death" investigation Wednesday after the woman was found.
At noon Thursday, Sellers said the woman was murdered and a homicide investigation is underway. He also said the VCU has a suspect in custody that was being interviewed Thursday afternoon.
No additional details were available Thursday afternoon.
