Pennsylvania Quadruplets Graduate Together From UA This Weekend

While plenty of families will fill the University of Alabama's Coleman Coliseum this weekend to watch their own participate in spring commencement, only one in attendance will get to see four of their children - quadruplets - all graduate in one weekend.

According to the graduates themselves, all four attending the Alabama's flagship university wasn't originally in the cards for Blue Bell, Pennsylvania's Hanson family.

Fraternal twins Max and Annagrace Hanson stuck together during their college search looking south, despite a scare that might've landed Max at the school he grew up rooting for, Auburn.

“I have an uncle from Alabama," Max said, "So we looked at both schools and my parents wanted me to go to Alabama so, so bad.”

Chloe was slated to play lacrosse at hometown LaSalle before taking a visit to Tuscaloosa.

"We had come to see the campus here and even though it was at night and dark, I knew I wanted to come here,” she said, “The campus was just beautiful.”

Education major Michaela Hanson will be the first of four siblings to graduate, technically, as UA's College of Education will hold its commencement on Friday.

Annagrace, a marketing major; Max, a finance major and Chloe, a criminal justice major, will all graduate on Saturday.

Though they made it a point to each live their own lives and grow individually, it didn't deter the trio of sisters from living together during their time at UA, down the street from their brother.

“We made our own friends and were our own people," Chloe said, "but we still knew everyone was close."

The four's plans, like their brother Buddy who's 18 months older, include returning to southern Pennsylvania upon graduation. But, they'll certainly miss their time in Tuscaloosa.

“I wasn’t really much of a ‘school person’ in high school," Annagrace said, "but the quality of education here really got me excited to go to class every day."

The University of Alabama is set to award over 5,700 degrees across its three-day commencement, May 5-7.
