A man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after leading Northport Police on a chase where one of its officers suffered minor injuries.

According to Assistant Chief Keith Carpenter, the driver of a vehicle was stopped on McFarland Boulevard in Northport near the area of "The Wharf" around 4 p.m. During the investigation, it was discovered that the driver had active warrants out of Texas.

As officers attempted to take the driver into custody, the driver fled the scene with one of its officers hanging from the vehicle in some capacity where he was dragged a few feet, suffering minor injuries.

The driver was taken into custody around the area of Union Chapel Road by Northport Police.
