Tuscaloosa Police Suspect Medical Issue Caused Deadly Wednesday Wreck
Tuscaloosa Police are investigating after a woman died Wednesday evening in a car accident on Overbrook Road.
Stephanie Taylor, a spokeswoman for the Tuscaloosa Police Department, said officers responded to the scene of an accident after a Toyota Corolla left the road and crashed into bushes outside a home on Overbrook Road.

After an initial investigation, police believe 82-year-old Ruby Petagrew suffered a medical emergency while driving Wednesday evening.
Taylor said Petagrew crossed over a speed table, lost control of the vehicle, struck a mailbox outside one house and rolled into bushes outside a house three doors down before coming to a stop.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which took place a few minutes before 7 p.m.
Taylor said TPD’s Accident Reconstruction Unit is continuing to investigate the deadly accident.
