Tuscaloosa community members will have an opportunity to receive locally prepared meals directly to their doorsteps through a fundraiser hosted by the Junior League of Tuscaloosa.

According to a release from the organization, the fundraiser will allow citizens to purchase a dinner for four people from a local business that can be delivered to the address of their choice. Meals will be served on November 1 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.

Stephanie Reinhart, JLT's vice president of fund development, said the organization "is proud to work with Jolando Hill of Pinnacle Personal Chef to showcase a minority businesswoman."

The fundraiser will offer two meal selections, including:

  • Grilled Chicken with white BBQ Sauce, smoked gouda macaroni and cheese, grilled vegetables and rolls
  • Hamburger Steak with mashed potatoes, green beans and cornbread

Each meal will be served with desserts, four drinks from Buffalo Rock and a thermal bag from the West-Mid Alabama Community Development Corporation.

The meals are $50 if picked up in-person, or $55 for the delivery option, which can be up to 15 miles from the distribution site, Cornerstone Full Gospel Baptist Church.

Preorders for the meals can be purchased by visiting www.jltuscaloosa.org/fundraisers under the "Dinner At Your Door" tab. The deadline to purchase meals is October 25.

The release states proceeds from the fundraiser will be put back into the Tuscaloosa community and used to support the league’s ultimate goal of empowering women.
