Organizers say the session will walk nonprofit leaders and community organizations through what grants are and what they are not, how to find the right funding opportunities, what funders are actually looking for, and the common mistakes that hold applications back. A major focus will also be on preparation and storytelling, two things that can make or break your proposal.

The workshop will be held Tuesday, February 24, 2026 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 651 20th Ave. in Tuscaloosa. Participants can attend in person or virtually through Google Meet after registering.

Leading the session are Ryan Davidson, founder of Granted, LLC, and LB Brown, founder of HAPPY Moms, LLC, two professionals bringing real world insight into grant readiness and funding strategy.

There is also a smart bonus attached. The $25 workshop ticket includes a $25 credit toward a Community Summit ticket, making it both a learning opportunity and an investment in future engagement.

For growing nonprofits, grassroots leaders, and anyone serious about securing funding, this workshop could be the starting point that turns good ideas into funded impact.
