Alabama Offensive Lineman Kaydn Proctor Following Alabama’s Win Over Vandy
On Saturday, Alabama achieved a 30-14 victory over No. 16 Vanderbilt, showcasing an impressive performance in the second half. The Crimson Tide held Vanderbilt scoreless during this period while adding 16 points to their score. After the game, Alabama's offensive lineman, Kadyn Proctor, spoke to the media about the team's performance. He specifically mentioned his crucial two-yard rush that converted a third down in the fourth quarter.

Proctor began his interview by discussing his two-yard rush. He mentioned that this week was the first time they started running that play in practice. The offensive lineman revealed that Alabama's offensive coordinator contacted him during practice to inform him that a run play would be specifically designed for him. Proctor, a standout on the offensive line, expressed his commitment to doing whatever it takes to help the team win.
"We put that in this week on Tuesday or Wednesday. Grubb called me in the middle of practice and said, "You're gonna run this play right here." Proctor said, "Anything I can do for the team, just go and do my job, get a first down, that's all I'm trying to do."
Proctor and the Alabama offensive line played a great game Saturday, helping the Alabama offense rush for 146 yards and giving Ty Simpson enough time to throw for 340 yards through the air while Simpson was sacked four times. Alabama's offensive line did a solid job of holding off the Commodores' defenders.
When asked about his reaction to the fans' reaction after his two-yard rush, which resulted in a first down, Proctor said he wasn't worried about the crowd because several plays still left in the game. Proctor focused on one thing: doing his job every single play.
"There are more plays. That's all I think about." Proctor said There are more plays we have to finish out the game, and that's really it."
When asked about the running game and his teammate Jam Miller rushing for 136 yards, Proctor mentioned that the line had been doing that in practice and how it felt good to see the unit's hard work in practice be rewarded on the field.
Proctor stated, "It felt really good to go out there, and we did that in practice. We focused on that, and I've said that before. We've got to find out the offensive line to create gaps for our backs because we have outstanding backs to create holes for them to succeed, and I feel like we did pretty well today. It still can be better. Still can fix some things."
Proctor was asked if he saw any of Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia's pregame talk, to which he responded, "We're not on social media too much, honestly, and that's cool. He feels confident in his team, and that's great, but we obviously do, too."
In concluding his media interview, Proctor highlighted that the team was not dwelling on last year's results but concentrating on the present: winning one game at a time.
"We weren't really worried about anything that was up on the scoreboard." Proctor added, "Like I said last year, it's just doing our thing and focusing on the now and going 1-0 next play mentality, and I feel like that's what our team did through the ups and downs, so proud of them."
Alabama will improve its win streak to four games as it moves up to 4-1 after Saturday's victory. Proctor and the Tide will return to action next Saturday when Alabama travels to Columbia to take on No. 19 Missouri.
