Tuscaloosa’s Hunt Club Honky Tonk Closes After 9 Months, New Concept in the Works
One of Tuscaloosa's more exotic eateries is permanently closed after less than a year in business and a new concept is in the works for its former home downtown.
The Hunt Club Honky Tonk opened in Temerson Square in the old Wilhagan's location at 2209 4th Street in March last year.

The Honky Tonk was a Nashville-style restaurant offering a variety of unique steak options, family-friendly entertainment and a large beer selection, but it never quite took off in the 8,000-square-foot space.
Now, less than a year after opening, the Hunt Club Honky Tonk is closed with little explanation as to why on social media or at the site, where a sign simply says "Closed Until Further Notice."
The downtown property will not stand vacant long, though -- a sign in the window shows that a new group of entrepreneurs has formed Black Warrior Burgers, LLC and is applying for a new restaurant retail liquor license for a concept called Grand Stand.
A city council hearing to consider their liquor license application has been set for next Monday, January 31st, and more details about the new concept should be shared during that process.
