
Homicide Suspect Captured in Greene County After Escape from UAB Hospital
A man wanted in connection with two homicides in Birmingham was successfully captured again this morning in Eutaw after escaping from authorities last month.
According to WBRC, 19-year-old Eddie Jordan, Jr., wanted in connection with the February murder of Demaryius Antoine Cherry in Birmingham and the January murder of Buford White in Tarrant, had been taken into custody by U.S. Marshals after a foot chase in Birmingham on April 23, 2025.
Jordan was transported to UAB after being deemed unfit for the Jefferson County Jail; while there, he escaped.
Authorities searched two places where Jordan was believed to be residing and were able to capture him in the 5100 block of County Road in Eutaw on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
Jordan was taken to the Jefferson County Jail, where is is being held without bond.
The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force held the investigation with assistance from the Tuscaloosa Police Department, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency SWAT Team, and Birmingham Police Department's Crime Reduction Team.
