Southeastern FirstBank Opens First Tuscaloosa Branch Downtown
A growing bank brand that has done business in the southern US for more than a century is now in the Tuscaloosa market after opening their first branch here in a building downtown.
FirstBank has moved into space at 2700 Capitol Park, a mixed-use apartment complex on University Boulevard downtown with retail space on the first floor.

In a press release, bank leaders said the new location, which is soft opening this week, will serve as both the permanent corporate office for Tuscaloosa and a full-service branch.
In their press release, a spokesperson said FirstBank was founded in 1906. They now operate about 100 branches across Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky, and Georgia and and control about $16 billion of total assets. They announced they would come to Tuscaloosa back in Feburay.
The leadership team at the downtown branch includes Chuck Bracknell as SVP and Market President; Kristy Hunter as VP and Financial Center Manager; Anna Kniphfer, Senior Relationship Manager Associate; Lindsey Hutson and Grace Hall, Universal Bankers; Daniel Pate, Residential Mortgage Banker; and Hunter Jacobs, Mortgage Banking Assistant.
"Opening our doors in Tuscaloosa is more than just a milestone – it’s a reflection of the incredible team we’re building and our commitment to serving this community,” Bracknell said. "With a full-service branch, commercial banking, and mortgage banking services under one roof, we’re making it easier than ever for individuals, families, and businesses across Central & West Alabama to access our tailored financial services."
The FirstBank crew will host an official grand opening and ribbon cutting next month during the last week of August.
