Tuscaloosa American Eagle, Aerie Prepare for July Opening in Midtown Village
American Eagle and its sister brand Aerie are preparing to open two separate storefronts in Midtown Village next month after the jeans retailer announced it was leaving Tuscaloosa's University Mall last year.
Suzanna Edwards, the Vice President of Marketing for Midtown's manager Crawford Square Real Estate Advisors, told the Tuscaloosa Thread that while American Eagle is a household name with more than a dozen stores across Alabama, this will only be the second Aerie to open in the state.

Both brands are owned by American Eagle, but Edwards said Aerie provides "intimates, apparel, activewear and swimwear with every piece designed for comfort."
Both stores are set to open on Thursday, July 14th, at 9 a.m.
“We are thrilled to add two more retailers that cater to the college-age demographic in Tuscaloosa," said Mary Beyer Lell, head of leasing for Crawford Square. "These brands will deliver on-trend essentials we know our shoppers will enjoy."
Edwards said Midtown Village will mark the grand openings with a celebration that Thursday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Patrons will be able to win giveaways, hear music from a live DJ and more, she said.
