Alabama’s Montana Fouts Named SEC Pitcher of The Week
The Southeastern Conference honors Alabama senior Montana Fouts as the SEC Softball Pitcher of the Week award for the second week of the softball schedule. Fouts was 2-0 across three appearances in the Easton Bama Bash.
Fouts struck out 24 batters over 13.1 innings pitched at the Easton Bama Bash, she shut out No. 9 Virginia Tech while striking out 11 on Friday, she recorded a save in the Saturday matchup against Middle Tennessee and struck out 13 in the Sunday victory over the Blue Raiders.
The face of college softball has struck out 38 batters through just 20.1 innings while helping the Crimson Tide to a 9-0 start.
Her SEC Pitcher of the Week award is the first of the current season and the 10th of her career. She earned Freshman of the Week four times in 2019 and SEC Pitcher of the Week on five other occurrences throughout her career.
The No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide will continue its season on Thursday in the Mardi Gras Mambo against Nicholls, Southeastern Louisiana, Northwestern State Louisiana Tech and Louisiana.
