
Marion Homicide Person of Interest Search Expanded Nationwide
The Alabama State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) is seeking help nationwide in a Perry County homicide case. The agency is attempting to locate Anastassija Cooper, also known as “Anya” or “Tess.” She has been identified as a person of interest in the death of Jeffery Wade Holifield, 68, who was found deceased in the 2000 block of Onrow Tubbs Road on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. near the Perry County City of Marion.
The deceased was a native of Homewood in Jefferson County and was owner of Cahaba Woodworks in Helena. Authorities are treating his death as a homicide.
Cooper is described as a white female with brown hair and brown eyes, standing 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing approximately 216 pounds. She is thought to be traveling in the company of a mixed breed dog named "Banana".
Authorities believe Cooper is now out of Alabama because was recently seen in San Mateo, California. She could be in any of several states as she has family ties in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Oregon. The search was expanded nationwide after she was seen in California.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) is asking anyone who sees Cooper or has information about her whereabouts is asked to contact the State Bureau of Investigation at (334) 850-0910.
