Katie Britt Beats Mo Brooks in Republican Primary Runoff Tuesday
Katie Britt has beaten Congressman Mo Brooks in Tuesday's Republican Primary Runoff Election, clearing her path to face Democrat Will Boyd in the November general election to replace veteran legislator Richard Shelby in the US Senate.
Britt served as Shelby's longtime chief of staff and was his handpicked successor for the Senate seat.
Unofficial results from the Alabama Secretary of State's Office are still coming in, but Brooks conceded the race shortly after 8:20 p.m. Tuesday.
