CNN’s Kaitlan Collins to Trump: “I’m Still From Alabama, Sir”
Donald Trump's ongoing clashes with CNN's Kaitlan Collins are becoming a soap opera. The 80-year-old Trump keeps attacking the 36-year-old Alabama native who is the network's Chief White House Correspondent, and she keeps giving it back to him.
During a heated Oval Office exchange with the University of Alabama graduate on June 3rd, Trump told Collins, “You used to be a conservative; she was a conservative from Alabama.”
Collins immediately replied, "I'm still from Alabama, sir."

That night, on her CNN primetime program “The Source”, Collins described Trump as being “clearly irritated" by a question someone had pointedly asked earlier, and he took his displeasure out on the Prattville native, something he frequently does.
This past weekend, she reminded Trump where she is from by posting an Instagram photo of an orange cake topped with icing with the message, "Still From Alabama" on top.
The post of the cake in Instagram's carousel of photos drew immediate responses from Alabama fans who answered with "Roll Tide" and Collins fans who liked the way she handles herself when under fire from Trump.
While appearing on The Daily Show recently, Collins addressed the tit-for-tat, back-and-forth between her and the president, who constantly criticizes her serious demeanor, "It's really not about me, and I don't want it to be about my reaction. ... In those moments, it's important to put the reminder back on the work, on the question, and on the non-answers that we get."
Collins may not want her reaction to his complaints about her not smiling or her, as he calls it, "nasty attitude," but the cake is getting attention. The ball is now in the president's court, and most expect it will not be long before he returns the volley.
