A young girl who was found walking alone in Tuscaloosa Saturday morning has been returned to her family.

According to a post on the Tuscaloosa Police Department's Facebook page, the girl was found walking alone at 7 a.m. at 3rd Avenue East and 41st Street in the area of Skyland Elementary School.

The girl told responders she was at "TT's house," which could possibly have been the aunt of the girl, and decided she wanted to return home to her mother.

TPD confirmed with the Tuscaloosa Thread that the girl had been connected back with her family after comments on the post indicated she was home safe.
