Investigators have arrested suspects in two non-fatal shootings in the Tuscaloosa area over the weekend in Cottondale and the West End.

In a Tuesday morning update, Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, stated that both arrests occurred on Monday.

The first was in relation to a shooting at Cottondale Efficiency Apartments, where multiple shots were fired on Saturday night, striking several vehicles and a residence there.

The gunplay left several people with "very minor" injuries that Kennedy said could have been caused by broken glass or bullet fragments, but no one was shot directly in this case.

On Monday, the VCU arrested 35-year-old Cordarius King for Attempted Murder and two counts of Shooting into Occupied Vehicles. Kennedy said the investigation is ongoing and more charges are expected.

On the other side of town, a victim was shot several times just a few minutes after 12 a.m. on Sunday, but they are expected to survive their injuries. That incident took place on 33rd Avenue in West Tuscaloosa.

Kennedy said Tuesday that the VCU has identified Ladarrious Price, age 32, as the suspect, and he was located and arrested for attempted murder and committed to jail with no bond Monday night.
