A Tuscaloosa man has been charged with murder after he allegedly shot and killed someone at the same storage unit event venue on Greensboro Avenue where another murder took place earlier this year.

Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said TPD officers were called to a storage unit in the 3400 block of Greensboro Avenue just before 11 p.m. Saturday.

"This location is the same storage unit facility where another subject, Autumn Mack, was murdered on April 19, 2025," Kennedy said. "The units are rented to out to persons and businesses and are often used during late night hours for informal gatherings."

On Saturday night, officers found a man fatally shot at the makeshift venue, identified as Keeondray Sterling, age 37.

"A short time later, Cordell Shepherd, age 37, contacted the police and reported that he had shot the victim," Kennedy said. "After interviewing witnesses, reviewing security video, processing the crime scene, and consulting with the District Attorneys Office, Cordell Shepherd was charged with one count of Murder and committed to the county jail without bond. The shooting occurred during an argument over a woman."
