Vernon Ray Steward (April 16th, 1964 – September 22nd, 2025)

Vernon Steward, 61, of Moundville, Ala., passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025, at Hospice of West Alabama.

He is preceded in death by his father, Vernon Allen Steward, his sister, Barbara Gail Lovell, and his in-laws, Henry and Catherine LeBourgeois.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Pam, daughter, Brittney, son, Chris (Allison), grandchildren, Shayley, Casen, Easton, Lakelynn, and Brooklynn, mother, Betty Bowen, brother, Bubba (Becky), brother-in-laws; Henry (Janice), and Michael LeBourgeois, nieces and nephews; Bradley, Amanda, Alex and Davis and his pup Little Man.

Vernon was a long-time employee of 35 years at Flowers Bakery Company. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. One of his greatest joys was that he was able to share his skills with his son Chris, who was able to share with many of his friends, and now his son Easton.

It was Vernon's wish not to have a service, but to continue to pray for his family. You can reach out to any of them via Facebook, except his wife Pam who has not made that jump into technology.
