
Shots Allegedly Fired on Tuscaloosa’s 15th Street, Locking Down School, Suspect Captured
Reports of gunshots being fired in Tuscaloosa on Thursday morning briefly sent a local school into lockdown. A suspect is in police custody, and an investigation is underway.
According to a spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa Police Department, they received reports of shots being fired in the area of 15th Street near Dinah Washington Avenue just before 11 a.m.

Due to the proximity of the alleged incident, Central Elementary School was placed on lockdown until the area could be deemed safe.
TPD's PIO Stephanie Taylor said a suspect is in their custody and officers are still in the area trying to determine if gunshots were actually fired and, if so, whether any property was damaged.
As of noon Thursday, there were no reports of injuries related to the alleged shooting.
