Power Outage Affecting Part of University of Alabama Campus, Some Traffic Lights Out

A power outage on Friday morning is impacting part of the University of Alabama campus, leaving some traffic lights offline while they work to fix the problem.

According to the school's public safety social media accounts, the outage has been ongoing since around 9 a.m. and is mostly affecting the eastern part of campus.

The University said some street crossings have police officers directing traffic and others have temporary stop signs in place.

Be cautious when traveling in the area and expect short delays as Alabama Power collaborates with UA facilities to restore power as quickly as possible.
