
UA System COVID-19 Dashboard Returns, Reports 69% Employees Vaccinated
The University of Alabama System has reintroduced its COVID-19 Dashboard, offering a look at how vaccination and infection rates are trending among its three campuses.
As of Aug. 17, more than 69% of the UA System's employees are have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The campus breakdown is as follows:
- Tuscaloosa: >72.4%
- Birmingham: >72%
- Huntsville: >63%
Vaccine administration to the System's "broader communities" totals nearly 278,000, the lion's share of which is in Birmingham.

Current COVID-19 infections are relatively low across all campuses, with the University of Alabama's Tuscaloosa campus having the most reported positive cases for the week of Aug. 9-15.
The campus breakdown is as follows:
- Tuscaloosa: 56 COVID-positive students | 26 COVID-positive faculty/staff
- Birmingham: 27 COVID-positive students | 22 COVID-positive faculty/staff
- Huntsville: 11 COVID-positive students | 3 COVID-positive faculty/staff
System-wide COVID-19 cases remain low, with 94 students and 51 faculty and staff currently having the virus.
