Two young women died in a multi-vehicle crash in north Tuscaloosa County before dawn Saturday, State Troopers have confirmed.

Sergeant Reginal King, a spokesperson for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency in our area, said the accident happened at about 12:15 a.m Saturday.

King said 20-year-old Abigail Woods of Brookwood, Alabama was driving a 2013 Ford Focus when she collided head-on with a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 17-year-old from Northport.

A 19-year-old in the Ford was also killed in the crash, Sierra N. Jackson, of Cottondale. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

King said the driver of the Chevrolet was transported to an area hospital for treatment, and two additional passengers in the Ford, both 19, were injured and transported to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment.

King said debris from the crash struck a 2002 Toyota Tacoma driven by a Northport man.

The crash took place on U.S. Highway 43 near mile marker 207, approximately 11 miles north of Tuscaloosa city limits, King said.

No other details were available Saturday night as ALEA continues to investigate the deadly crash.
