Tuscaloosa Police Arrest Juvenile Who Shot Other Child Thursday
Police in Tuscaloosa have arrested a juvenile who shot his friend Thursday afternoon while reportedly playing with a gun at his home.
Captain Marty Sellers, the co-commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said Tuscaloosa Police officers were called to the 2900 block of Azalea Lane by someone who said he had accidentally shot another person.

Sellers said TPD officers found a juvenile suffering from a serious but not life-threatening gunshot wound and another minor who claimed to be responsible.
The suspect allegedly told police he shot his friend while playing with a handgun.
Sellers said the minor who pulled the trigger lived at the residence where the shooting took place, and his mother was home at the time but told police she did not know her son had a gun.
Ultimately, police arrested the juvenile who fired the shot and charged him with second-degree assault and illegally possessing a firearm.
"The investigation continues," Sellers said. "Alabama law prohibits the release of identifying information for juveniles involved in criminal acts; therefore, no further information regarding the parties in this case will be released."
