Residents of West Alabama can enjoy the spring weather, get on the water, and participate in a community cleanup to protect our natural resources this Saturday morning during Tuscaloosa's annual Love Our Lakes Day.

The group litter removal effort will kick off this Saturday at Rock Quarry Boat Landing on Lake Tuscaloosa at 8 a.m. and will run until 1 p.m.

Volunteers with their own boats, along with others assigned to City boats, will move around the lake and remove litter and other garbage from the water and shoreline.

This year's event is presented by Tradesman Dock Building Company, and volunteers will be provided with garbage bags and litter-pickup gear from Tuscaloosa's Environmental Services division.

The first 75 volunteers to arrive will receive a free t-shirt, and lunch will also be provided to participants.
