Tuscaloosa’s Alamite Hotel Names Familiar Face As New General Manager
Leadership at downtown Tuscaloosa's luxurious Alamite Hotel has named a familiar face to serve as its new general manager.
In a Thursday announcement, marketers for the Alamite said Tuscaloosa's Heather Dill will take the reins at the hotel, which was backed in part by the King and Queen of Alabama Football, Nick and Terry Saban.
Dill boasts more than 15 years of leadership experience at hotels across the Southeast, including several here in Tuscaloosa.
As general manager, Dill will oversee all daily operations at the Alamite, including overseeing the guest experience, food and beverage outlets, advancing employee engagement, and managing the property’s unique brand identity.
“I am honored to have been chosen to lead this amazing team and hit the ground running to recommit The Alamite Tuscaloosa as a dynamic partner to this community,” said Dill. “This hotel was built to be “of” Tuscaloosa, not just “in” Tuscaloosa, and I am excited to see it become that.”
The hotel is named for Alamite the Elephant, a massive pachyderm who once served as the University of Alabama's occasional live mascot during homecoming parades and the like.
The Alamite and its attached restaurants, Forté: Cuts and Cocktails and the Roll Call rooftop bar and grill opened last year on 6th Street in Tuscaloosa near First Baptist Church, the city's free parking deck and FIVE Tuscaloosa.
