Tuscaloosa County’s Lake Lurleen to Host First-Ever “Santa in the Park” This Weekend
Old Saint Nick is coming to T-Town this weekend -- or at least to Lake Lurleen for the first-ever Santa in the Park holiday spectacular.
According to a press release from park officials, the park will transform into a winter wonderland for all ages this weekend, with a drive-through Christmas light display, hot chocolate and popcorn for visitors and a surprise visit from Kris Kringle himself.

The inaugural event is being organized by the Friends of Lake Lurleen State Park, who are actively organizing on social media to preserve and improve the 1,600-acre treasure.
“The park has always had a great Halloween event, so we thought why not do something similar for the holidays?" said Tyler Barnes, a spokesperson for the group. "The Friends of Lake Lurleen State Park Facebook Community were happy to help the Park with their vision for this event, and we hope the community will come out and see Santa in the Park."
The event kicks off at 6 p.m. this Friday and will return at the same time on Saturday, so make plans to visit before it's too late!
Normal admission fees will still be required to enter the park.
Children under the age of 3 and all active-duty military personnel and veterans can enter for free.
