Troopers Identify 43-Year-Old Killed in Motorcycle Wreck Wednesday
Alabama Law Enforcement Agency State Troopers have identified the victim of a fatal motorcycle accident on I-20/59 Wednesday afternoon as a 43-year-old from North Carolina.
In a Thursday morning release, Trooper Reginal King said the victim was David Jason Culpepper, 43, of Oakboro, North Carolina.
King said Culpepper was riding a 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle when on I-20 West / I-59 South when he left the roadway and struck a guardrail near mile marker 79 in Coaling, just outside the Tuscaloosa city limits.
King said the accident took place around 2:45 Wednesday afternoon.
King said speed is believed to be a factor in the accident, and that Culpepper was pronounced dead on the scene.
Nothing further was available Thursday as Troopers with the ALEA Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
