UPDATE – 2:11 p.m. ALL CLEAR. There is no longer an active threat.

Several Tuscaloosa City Schools were placed on lockdown Monday morning after a threat was reported at Central High School, according to a police spokeswoman.

Stephanie Taylor, the public information officer at the Tuscaloosa Police Department, said officers were alerted to a threat at the school on 15th Street Monday morning.

TPD responded, but Taylor said they "found no reason to believe the threat is valid."

Several city schools were placed on lockdown out of an abundance of caution while officers check each school to make sure students and staff are safe, Taylor said.
