Community Rallies Around Northside Principal After House Fire

When Dr. Jeremy Madden was hired to be Northside High School's principal last year, he and his family were welcomed with open arms.

Now the same community members are chipping in to help their principal's family bounce back from a devastating fire that destroyed the family's home last Friday night.

Dr. Madden was attending the Northside Rams' first home football game of the season when he got a call that his house was on fire. When he rushed home, it was fully involved, but much to his relief, his dog emerged from the rubble.

Now his neighbor and friends are stepping up to help the family, and they are encouraging others to join them. There are several donation drives underway.

• Madden Family Fire Relief Fund: This has been established by Sulphur Springs Church, with all donations going directly to the Madden family to meet their immediate needs.
• Donation Drives by both Northside High School & Elementary School: Donations are being collected, and a toy drive is being organized.
