A two-car collision in south Alabama killed a Tennessee woman and injured three others, including two teenagers in one car while a man and woman and two teenagers from Hale County were injured in the other vehicle.

74-year-old Dessie S. Medley of Speedwell, TN was a passenger in a 2024 Honda CRV when it collided with a 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC300 containing four people from Moundville according to ALEA Troopers.

The 53-year-old female driver of the Honda, as well as two passengers, ages 18 and 23, were also taken to hospitals with unspecified injuries.

The 39-year-old male driver of the Mercedes, as well as a 42-year-old female and two teenagers, ages 13 and 16, who were passengers, were taken to hospitals for treatment after a two-car crash in Covington County killed a Tennessee woman. All four are from Moundville. Their identities have not been released.

The deadly crash happened just before 1:00pm Sunday afternoon on Alabama Highway 55, four miles northwest of the South Alabama town of Red Level.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by ALEA Troopers.
