Katie Britt is fired up about watching the Tide roll Saturday as Kalen DeBoer and no. 4 Alabama take on Kirby Smart's second-ranked Georgia Bulldogs on Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

The Yellowhammer State's junior Senator joined the Game with Ryan Fowler on Tide 100.9 FM for an exclusive interview ahead of the game, which she is expected to attend with former President Donald Trump, Senator Tommy Tuberbille and a list of other conservative VIPs.

Britt, an Enterprise native, said she can't remember a time the atmosphere around a game in Tuscaloosa was this electric.

"The energy everywhere, to me, it's just through the roof. I've certainly been wearing my Alabama baseball cap through the Capital more than one day and I had to get a couple of 'Roll Tides' off to my colleagues from Georgia," Britt said. "It's game time and I am excited! We are obviously thrilled that President Trump, in the midst of a very busy election season, took the time to be a part of such a special evening and such a big game."

They're not just here to witness the clash of the titans, though - Britt said the trip could be a big boost for Trump as he seeks a second term as President. Trump won Georgia in 2016, but narrowly lost the state to Joe Biden in 2020.

"We need Georgia! We know Georgia is actually red and so we can turn it all the way back red this election and I certainly hope that's what we're going to do," Britt said. "Obviously, we're going to spar on Saturday. But after that, I think we're going to be united in taking our country back."

Fowler and Britt spent a good time discussing politics, but the conversation took a person turn when they spoke about former Alabama strength and conditioning coach Scott Cochran, who followed Kirby to Georgia after a legendary career here.

Cochran has since opened up publicly about a crippling addiction to opioid painkillers which almost killed him.

Britt said she and her husband Wesley are close friends with Cochran.

"Wesley are proud to call Scott a friend. We are so grateful that not only was he courageous enough to get the help that he needed, but also that he is willing to tell his story and willing to tell it so someone else out there listening or hearing it has the courage to take that step as well," Britt said.

"As we know, addiction of all forms has the opportunity, unfortunately, not only to ruin one individual's life but can also do that of an entire family," she continued. "So I just want to say thank you to coach Cochran for you know, the man that he is, and not only being willing to have the strength to do hard things, but then being humble enough to allow the hard things that he went through to help others."

"Anyone out there who is listening or struggling, I mean seek help because treatment works and treatment can give you a new lease on life by the grace of God," Britt said. "To Coach Cochran, thank you so much for what you did for Alabama Football and let's all put our hands in the air with with the fours up!"
