Search Continues for Missing Walker County Woman
23-year-old Summer Lashay Busbee has not been seen since Sunday, December 20th. The Walker County Sheriff's Department is currently investigating the missing persons case and is asking for the public's help in locating Busbee.
The WCSO says its investigators continued to pursue any leads in the case over the holidays and has requested relevant banking and cell phone records in an attempt to locate Busbee, who was initially reported missing on Monday, December 21st.
"The passing of an important holiday, and now a total of one week has gone by since her last sighting. This has us even more concerned," the Walker County Sheriff's Office posted to Facebook.
Investigators shared the timeline of Busbee's disappearance to social media Monday, December 28th. The post included the following details:
December 17th: Busbee went to work in Jasper. She clocked out at 10:37 a.m. stating she was going to check on a friend who was admitted to the hospital following an accident. She lost her cell phone. The phone was later found and turned into the administrative office of Busbee's employer. Busbee was seen walking in West Jasper around 1 p.m. She then went to her residence in Saragossa.
December 20th: A relative sees Busbee at a local convenience store. She left in an unknown direction and in an unknown method of travel.
December 21st: Busbee is officially reported missing.
"Lots of manhours and resources are being utilized in this search. We STRONGLY hope the people who have provided us information are being sincere, and not trying to conceal some reason for Summer’s disappearance. Our primary goal in this investigation is to bring Summer back safely to her family and friends," the WCSO said.
