A Nauvoo man has died following a single-vehicle accident in Walker County this morning.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, 57-year-old Carlton L. Lawson was traveling on Dogwood Road near Walden Road two miles north of Carbon Hill when his 2011 Toyota Venza left the roadway and struck a tree at approximately midnight on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.

ALEA says Lawson, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

ALEA continues to investigate, and no further details are available.
