Former Alabama and Las Vegas Raiders star wide receiver Henry Ruggs III has been transferred from a low security prison to a medium security facility in Nevada. Nevada prison officials have not revealed the nature of the infraction, only that it led to the move from the conservation camp to a more secure facility
The 26-year-old was sentenced to 10 years for driving his Corvette while drunk at 156 mph on a Las Vegas city street and crashing into another car, killing 23-year-old Tina Tintor and her dog in 2021. Prosecutors said his blood-alcohol level was twice the legal limit at 0.16.

Ruggs began his sentence in 2023 at High Desert State Prison before being transferred to the Stewart Conservation Camp, a lower-security facility. Before this transfer, some reports indicated that Ruggs had maintained a perfect conduct record in prison. That is why he was allowed to work at the Nevada Governor's Mansion as a trustee.
The 6-foot, 188-pound wideout signed with the Crimson Tide in 2017, where he was a member of the team that won the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship. His 24 total career receiving touchdowns places him third on Bama's all-time receiver's list.
