The YMCA of Tuscaloosa will once again host the annual 8K Rudolph Run Saturday, a holiday race that will benefit programs and initiatives offered by the Y.

The family-friendly run will go through downtown Tuscaloosa and along the Tuscaloosa River Walk off Jack Warner Parkway.

Childcare will be provided during the race, where children will have the opportunity to take part in arts and crafts activities and to meet Santa Claus. Participants are encouraged to wear their best holiday costumes.

The race will begin at 8 a.m. at the downtown YMCA branch, located at 2300 13th Street in Tuscaloosa. Participants can pre-register for the race online in advance or day of, beginning at 7 a.m.

The race registration fee is $30 per person, which will include a race t-shirt and ticket entry for door prizes. Awards for top racers and best costumes will be given to participants.

The proceeds from the race will allow the organization to provide families in Tuscaloosa the ability to afford athletics, summer camps, after-school programs and a healthier lifestyle through memberships, ensuring no one is turned away from accessing the programs.
