Update 11:20 p.m.: The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for  Northwestern Pickens County and Lamar County until 11:30 p.m.

Update 10:00 p.m.: A tornado watch issued for Autauga, Bibb, Blount, Chilton, Colbert, Coosa, Cullman Dallas, Elmore, Etowah, Fayette, Franklin, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Lamar, Lawrence, Lowndes, Marengo, Marion, Marshall, Montgomery, Morgan, Perry, Pickens, Shelby, St. Clair, Sumter, Talladega, Tuscaloosa, Walker, & Winston. until 4:00 a.m.

Update 8:24 p.m.: SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT - Strong thunderstorms are expected to impact Tuscaloosa, Hale and Bibb counties through 9:15 p.m. on January 3. Wind gusts up to 50 MPH.

Update 8:10 p.m.: A severe thunderstorm warning issued for Greene, Pickens and Sumter counties is canceled.

Update 7:49 p.m.: An Areal Flood Watch is issued for Bibb, Clay, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Randolph, Shelby, Sumter, Talladega and Tuscaloosa counties until January 4 at 12:00 p.m.

Update 7:43 p.m.:  Areal flood watch issued for Autauga, Barbour, Bullock, Chambers, Chilton. Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Montgomery, Perry, Pike, Russel and Tallaposa counties is EXTENDED until January 4 at 12 p.m.

Update 7:31 p.m.: A severe thunderstorm warning is issued for Greene, Pickens and Sumter counties until January 3 at 8:30 p.m.

Update 6:51 p.m.: Flood Advisory for Bibb, Chilton, Shelby and Talladega counties until January 3 at 9:45 p.m.

Update 3:37 p.m.: Tornado watch for Perry county cancelled.

Update 1:55 p.m.:  Areal flood watch issued for Autauga, Barbour, Bullock, Chambers, Chilton. Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Montgomery, Perry, Pike, Russel and Tallaposa counties until January 4 at 12 p.m.

Update 12:55 P.M.: Tornado Watch extended from now until 5 p.m. Tuesday, January 3.
