Investigators in Tuscaloosa County are responding to a shooting in Northport, police said Saturday afternoon.

Captain Marty Sellers, the assistant commander of the multi-agency Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said the victim was shot at least one time in the chest.

In a 4 o'clock update Saturday, Sellers said the victim is an 18-year-old man who was shot in the torso at Northport's Valley Hills.

He was taken to DCH in Northport before being transferred to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa for treatment. Sellers said the victim is in critical condition but stable.

No suspects have been identified or arrested as of Saturday afternoon.
