For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7. There are no better words that Paul gave to Timothy that describe our beloved Ollie B. He has had several roles in life and fulfilled each one with great tenacity.

Awaiting Ollie in Heaven are his wife Sybil Grammer, his parents Ollie Sr. and Annie Grammer, his brothers George, Stancel and Kenneth Grammer.

There are several remaining that will miss him immensely - his three daughters Deana Armstrong, Sandra Hamner (Woody), Michelle Skelton (Chris), six grandchildren Michael Armstrong (Cortney), Nate Hamner (Morgan), Chris Armstrong (Alexus), Cole Hamner, Alana Turner (Cooper), Cameron Simmons (Austin), five great-grandchildren Grayson Hamner, Emma Grace Hamner, Gage Armstrong, Travis Turner, and Luke Armstrong with the sixth one on the way Aubrey Michelle Simmons.

Ollie B grew up in Tuscaloosa and graduated from TCHS in 1955. He has been a member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church since 1949, where he met the love of his life Sybil. He taught Sunday school for several years as they raised their three girls. The last days of his life he continued to recall his first job at the Central Foundry as a blacksmith. He started in the coal industries with Peabody Coal Company, for which "Peabody" became one of his many nicknames. He retired at 53 years old from Drummond Coal Company in 1990 and established his own business named Hard Wear Corporation. After 21 years and 74 employees in November 2011 Ollie sold his business to enjoy his final years spending time with family and friends, going to the coast, eating out and putting miles on his Corvette.

Escorting Ollie to his earthly resting place will be Michael Armstrong, Nate Hamner, Chris Armstrong, Cole Hamner, Michael Harris and Tim Olive.

His family would like to express their love and gratitude to several people who have been such a blessing to him Michael Harris, Grady and Linda Williams, Janet Holsonback, Judy Corder, Donna Simmons, Brandy Sexton, HomeRN Concierge Caregivers Services, Amedisys Home Healthcare, Dr. Keith Debell and staff, DCH MICU 3rd floor, Yellow Creek Baptist Church, and Yellow Creek Voluntary Fire Department and many friends.
